Things I Learned in 2008...

1. Missouri Sucks.

2. Things are never as bad as you think they will be...they are either better or much, much worse.

3. Chicago is still my favorite city to visit.

4. My son has incredible insight for someone so young.

5. There is a direct link between hearing a tornado siren and needing to pee.

6. Some people are truly called to be doctors and nurses.

7. It is possible to fall in love with your husband all over again with just one look.

8. The roster of my true friends has dropped a few and gained a few, and that's okay.

9. What's gone on before is not nearly as important as what's going on now.

10. It is possible to actually feel your heart growing larger when your baby girl says, "Mommy, I yuv you so much!"

I think I am going to "steal" your idea for my next Thursday Thirteen post. I like it!

PS: my word verif is "ungly." Does that mean un-ugly?

thanks for coming by my site. I've been so awful about posting lately. I've gained 13 f-ing pounds. I'm not feeling particularly loving toward myself at the moment. I've been sneaking cookies and feeling very lonely. So it was nice to see a post from someone again. Glad you hear about your list of learnings. Sounds like you learned plenty. I don't know if I will ever have the chance to really learn about the tornado siren / pee thing but driving in a blizzard in white out conditions with my husband at the wheel came pretty close to instant urination on several occasions. I'm still trying to fall in love again with that guy. Sigh. Have a great week!!!! p.s. the word verification for this post is "pograggy." Sounds like a new sort of health bar or maybe an organic shampoo.

Tornado sirens are lullabys where I come from, sister.

And I dropped four and gained two, sigh.
